Psycho was the basis for the seminal Alfred Hitchcock film (1960) of the same title, starring Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. A lovely copy, much better than usually found, of a book and a dust jacket notoriously prone to flaws. Near fine in a near fine dustjacket for the harshest of judges. Dust jacket with a little surface scuffing and very light creases, spot at the lower edge between rear panel and back flap, thin red smudge on the front flap but without any tears or chips. Condition: The Book is square and tight, the covers clean and unmarked, red lettering still bright and colorful, minimal wear and toning to the edges, one corner just touched, spine tail slightly bumped pages tanned commensurate with age, but otherwise absolutely unmarked and unblemished. His collection was sold back in 2010 and the gentleman was well known to gather the best copies he could find of modern masterpiece first editions and detective fiction on the market. Housed in a high-quality quarter leather solander box with leather tips. ![]() Hardcover bound in publisher s black paper-covered boards over white spine cloth stamped in red in the original black and white dust jacket.
